On this Nascar website you will read all of the latest news stats about the Nextel Cup. This site will also be updated daily so you will never see the same thing every time you visit my site.

Following Rusty's Footsteps

It looks like Chrissy Wallace and other children of Rusty Wallace will get a chance to race. It's called the Summer Shootout Series, and there are over 200 competitors every Tuesday at LMS until August 7th. This was the same kind of series that drivers Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kyle Busch and Reed Sorenson began their careers. Maybe someday in the future we'll see Matt Wallace (son of Rusty Wallace) or Ryan Blaney (son of Dave Blaney) holding up a Nextel Cup championship in victory lane at Homestead.

Bristol's new concrete surface is better than ever , says Rusty Wallace

On Thursday afternoon the nine-time track winner Rusty Wallace got in a car and ran a few laps at Bristol Motor Speedway. Rusty Wallace said this new surface might get him to come out of retirement, at least for Bristol. Rusty said "The straightaways are so smooth. It's a little bumpy in the corners but its got character and you've got to have character." Everything looks good at Bristol and it's ready for racin'.

Terry Labonte to drive for Waltrip again at the Brickyard

Michael Waltrip Racing announced on wednesday that Terry Labonte will step back into the #55 Napa Toyota for the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard. Terry Labonte stepped into Michael Waltrips Toyota last month at Infineon Raceway and finished at the 35th position, not the finish he was hoping for. Hopefully we'll see Texas Terry Labonte in the top 10 for a strong finish this week. Waltrip will return at Pocono on August 5th.

Regan Smith to replace Sterling Marlin at Ginn, Nemechek is released, Almirola to drive #01

Regan Smith will replace Sterling Marlin in the #14 car next week at indianapolis, and Joe Nemechek will be released from the #13 car as Ginn Racing continues its ongoing construction.

In addition, Busch driver Aric Almirola will split time with Mark Martin in the #01 car. Mark Martin and Regan Smith have been sharing that ride this season but Almirola will get his chance to shine this Sunday. In my opinion I think if Mark Martin would have raced full time this season he would have had a good chance at making the chase for the championship and maybe even had a shot for his 1st Nextel Cup title.

Kurt Busch and the 100 point penalty that might have cost him a shot at the championship

hhhhhh.jpg

In an earlier incident with the #20 car Tony Stewart where Kurt Busch drove down pit road and stopped beside Stewarts car almost hitting one of his pit crew members which caused the 100 point penalty. Without this penalty Kurt Busch would be in 12th place in the point standings, but recently Busch has been finishing more consistantly (3rd at Daytona and 6th at Chicagoland) and needs to keep the momentum going if he wants a shot at making a chase, but one more bad race and he will have to wait until next season.

Kevin Harvick's Reese's and Elvis paint scheme

This is the only picture of Kevin Harvick's Reese and Elvis paint scheme right now, I know it hard to really tell what it looks like but I will find a better picture as soon as I can. This is what he will have at the Brickyard.
